Guia de instalacion de Sistemas Operativos en VMware

El pasado 13 de Julio se ha publicado la nueva "Guest Operating System Installation Guide", la teneis disponible en el siguiente enlace: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/GuestOS_guide.pdf

Se basa en los siguientes productos:
 VMware ESX Server 2.0 and later

 VMware ESXi/ESX 3.5 and later
 VMware Workstation 4.0 and later
 VMware Server 1.0 and later
 VMware Fusion1.0 and later
 VMware ACE 1.0 and later
 VMware GSX Server 3.0 and later

Con esta guia nos podemos orientar principalmente en los requisitos minimos que debe tener la configuracion de la MV en la que vamos a instalar los SO soportados, por ejemplo, para mv´s con Windows 7 las indicaciones serian:

 Create and configure a new virtual machine.
 Make sure the virtual machine has at least 1GB of RAM or more for 32‐bit guests and 2GB or more of RAM for 64‐bit guests.
 For the 32‐bit version of Windows 7, the hard drive for the virtual machine must be 24GB or larger.
 For the 64‐bit version of Windows 7, the hard drive for the virtual machine must be 32GB or larger..

La mayoria de estas recomendaciones se basan en las que realizan los propios fabricantes, como por ejemplo para Windows Server 2008 R2: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/system-requirements.aspx

El ultimo update referencia principalmente a la sistemas Linux:
 Added installation instructions for Ubuntu 10.04.

 Added installation instructions for Turbolinux 11.
 Removed incorrect statement about 64‐bit Solaris 10 guests support only for the e1000
network adapter driver.
